What source who is criticizing his employer would go on record? I said "either collaboration, or the source going on record". One unreported source, who apparently wasn't even a direct source but who commented on 2nd or 3rd hand reports, isn't enough to support publishing in a case like this. Appear to be false? How did you make that determination? Understand that when I say many of them appear to be false, I am not asserting that it is not the case that many of them are true. Do you take every claim of abuse by a prisoner as being solidly sourced because the prisoner claims it? To think that Gitmo guards were not capable of throwing the Koran in the toilet is to play the fool! I believe they are quite capable of it. That doesn't mean they did it. They might have but it isn't substantiated. The claim amounts to unsupported rumor, and publishing it without more support was reckless. We have become a nation of torturers. A vast exaggeration.
