Ted, from the "political report":

Moreover, a majority believes that the Senate should make its own decision about the president’s judicial nominees, rather than just generally confirming them.

Of course the Senate is making its own decisions about judicial nominees. What an ignorant question designed to get opinions from ignorant people.

No it isn't. The GOP want's to lower the voting requirements so that they can slam dunk every nominee Bush puts up. The people are saying they don't want that.

The question is not whether judicial nominees should even go through the Senate in the first place.

That was not the question presented to the voters.

The question is whether a 60/40 supermajority is needed for such a confirmation, or whether a simple majority should suffice.

And the public is telling the GOP they don't want a simple majority making the decision.......a simply majority insures the GOP can slam dunk their nominees. People like Priscilla Owens whose nominee has been turned down by two previous Congresses will be a shoo in. That's not what the public wants.

And the only one talking about an "angry electorate" is the Dem pollster Peter Hart, who no doubt is trying to play up such anger.

More evidence of bias in journalism.

Believe what you want but the worm is turning. The GOP continues on its current path at its own jeopardy.
