I am not sure how many remember the 1989/90 housing peak but it happen with much lower leverage than the one we are seeing today.

I remember it well. I had just bought a nice house in Maine at the time. I thought I had negotiated a good price for the property, got it way down from the ask, but it proved to be too high when I was forced to sell it. I lost my job and had to relocate.

Somehow a guardian angel jewish lawyer came to my assistance at the right time.
