If your interpretation of the 2nd Amendment was correct, the very people who provided our freedoms between 1776 and 1783 would have been arrested and put in jail for brandishing modern military assault weapons of the time, illegally forming militias, etc. You still think your interpretation is right? Militias were also used in the war of 1812 with even more modern weapons, then in 1840s vs Mexico with even more modern weapons, then in the Civil War with even more modern weapons...and then all of a sudden after the Spanish and Mexican War and World War I....the meaning completely changes to something else after 150 years of solid precedent?
