You are suggesting that people who make only $50k should not complain because there are poorer people in other countries.

I'm not suggesting anyone should not complain. If people making $50k, or people making $5000k a year want to complain its their right. All I'm saying is their lives for the most part don't suck. You are saying they do suck. If anything you are the one patronizing them.

Tim........1) you implied/suggested that people who make $50k have no right to complain because they are doing better than people in other countries. In conversation when someone says things in a certain way, it becomes loaded with implication. Just because you did not say the exact words does not erase the implication. It was there.

2) if you did not mean a family of four, then you should not have waited 5,6,or 7 posts before stating that intent. A family of four is a common measurement in the US when discussing median income. That's why I used it as a base number.

3) Finally, $50k for a family of four in a metro area is a very tight income......it means the family is struggling. For a single person, its okay but not great. And the truth is, its below the average median for the US. So its just above poverty.
