LOL! You cite others who uncritically take the word of terrorists thugs & murderers who have been trained to claim abuse & torture when captured. And like the MSM, you automatically think the worst of our own military.
From London's Daily Telegraph comes a word of warning to those who've been caught up in the hysteria over "torture" of terrorists:
<<< The men's [British citizens recently released] claim that they were tortured at Guantanamo should also be set in the context of the al-Qa'eda training manual discovered during a raid in Manchester a couple of years ago.
Lesson 18 of that manual, whose authenticity has not been questioned, emphatically states, under the heading "Prison and Detention Centres," that, when arrested, members of al-Qa'eda "must insist on proving that torture was inflicted on them by state security investigators. [They must] complain to the court of mistreatment while in prison." That is not, of course, proof that the Britons were not tortured in Guantanamo. But it ought to encourage some doubts about uncritically accepting that they were--which seems to be the attitude adopted by most of the media. Message 21003821
"-- Why did Newsweek, after getting this story wrong, report new Quran-into-the-latrine charges made by terrorists and their allies? The magazine "balanced" the new allegations by reporting a U.S. colonel's statement that "If you read the Al Qaeda training manual, they are trained to make allegations against the infidels."
But since terrorist testimony is not credible, why quote such charges without independent investigation? Message 21341357
"Newsweek's editor has explained that the magazine tended to believe the Koran charge because similar allegations have been made by former detainees. But al-Qaeda detainees are trained to lie about their treatment, as we know from a training manual captured in Manchester, England, in 1998." Message 21342066 |
