No, about 15 years ago. But he paid about 50% more than he would have here. If he could find one that small, that is. I realize that prices are even higher now. Scary.

Yeah, sounds like speculation to me. It reminds me of when my parents moved to Florida in the mid '70s. Florida had a speculation bust a couple of years earlier. You could go to the beach and see a lot of high rise condos that were abandoned part way through construction.

By the time that China lets their currency float, the game will have already been over here. They will have already stopped buying bonds by that point, and that is the trigger point. Now personally I don't really want to go through the economic climate of the late 1970s and early 1980s like so many seem hell bent on doing, but I don't seem to have a choice. Nostalgia isn't all it is cracked up to be.
