just pass legislation that bans assault weapons An "asault weapon" is a hunting rifle with a baynet lug on it or a flash supressor to help not hurt your night vision. What that has to do with the common good is beyond me. Not only that, just passing legislation doesn't disarm a single violent or professional criminal. Maybe you are naive in thinking that gun owners are responsible, maybe they are but your homes get robbed too, or worse you piss off a son / grandson and they decide to go on a shooting spree...but what am I talking about that would never happen. The police and military are gun owners right now and you trust them. Did you see the school they shot up with an F-16 last year? Do you see all the questionable police shootings that occur? Hmmmmm. You see that Concealed Carry Permit holders do not go on rampages?
