I assume you are referring to the deal signed on 12/21/2004 with Cook Inlet Coal LLC, an affiliate of Kanturk Partners, LLC...

I have seen no evidence that KFX has signed an agreement with the actual coal leaseholders. And I have seen no announcement that the plant will actually be built. However, I did find this old SI post with some highly negative info about KFX from Asensio and Company (the infamous short-seller outfit)...

There is no outward evidence that Kanturk has any financial resources at all. It is known that Kanturk is a newly formed corporation with a Washington, D.C. address and is partially staffed by KFx insiders.

To sum it up, I find KFX puzzling. It seems to produce nothing but smoke and controversy, yet the stock is up big over the last three years. I've never taken a position in it, either short or long.
