Information Technology's 'Steadily Improving' Outlook 05.20.05, 12:12 PM ET Banc of America Securities said that based on several analyst days and user conference events there is a "steadily improving IT outlook." Banc of America said that consistent with its "overweight" rating for the sector, a discussion panel of Internet Security Systems (nasdaq: ISSX - news - people ) distributors and value-added resellers "confirmed the particular strength in the incrementally improving IT outlook for 2005." The research firm noted that SAP (nyse: SAP - news - people ) announced partnerships with other tech firms, such as Intel (nasdaq: INTC - news - people ), Microsoft (nasdaq: MSFT - news - people ) and Cisco Systems (nasdaq: CSCO - news - people ) "in an effort to provide a more customer-centric development environment, based on enterprise services architecture." Microsoft's Xbox 360 will deliver multimedia and online features similar to the Media PC in a move clearly aimed at a broader audience outside of the core 18- to 34-year-old demographic of gamers, Banc of America said.
