Until recently, I thought this level of torture.........this inhuman behavior so disgusting, so despicable, so cruel that my stomach sickens every time I read it......these actions that go against everything that is good in this world........I thought this type of behavior was only the province of tyrants.

So now, John, what am I to think? Has America become a land of tyrants? Are we no longer a symbol of democracy and freedom in the world? Have we lost our way or have we always been like this.......hypocritical, arrogant, evil and bullying? I don't know what to believe any more. I don't understand how we can produce people who give a dying man a cup of water with a hole at the bottom so that the water drains out before he can drink. I don't understand how an American can take a dying man, innocent or guilty, and shackle him to the ceiling of his cell to insure his death. They say the perpetrators were inexperienced........what would they have done if they were were experienced.....how much worse would it have gotten? I am lost here. I don't know what is real any more. No one deserves to die the way these people died. The fact that they died this way at the hands of Americans is almost too much to bear. I just don't understand.
