One of the consequences of this kind of preservation is that urban areas are set up and that is where they pack the people in. Land for building becomes more and more expensive......as does the housing.....and choices are limited. In earlier times (mid to late 70s) the "environmental" groups were the only ones suggesting and working on land preservation projects, but more and more groups who were being targeted yet excluded in the decision making process have become more vocal and the originators of these concepts are being forced....sometimes by courts....to allow the participation of anyone who wants to be involved. A much better and more equitable solution.

I wish I could live long enough to see the final result of this latest effort, but we have had so much preservation going on around here for so long that what has been bought and preserved is obviously noticeable.
