Did you happen to notice this statement in your own, "less biased" article about Karzai?

"He (Undersecretary-General Hedi Annabi) also noted that opposition forces had filed many charges of irregularities, including allegations that poll workers were instructing people to vote for President Hamid Karzai."

I don't dispute that for Afghanistan, the election was probably not the most corrupt one they have ever had. But Karzai enjoys little support outside of Kabul. Let's just wait and see and watch what happens in the near future. I hope Afghanistan continues on the road to democracy. But calling it any kind of democracy right now is a big joke, since the war lords are in control of most of it.

The Toronto Sun's article that you assail is not pro-Taleban. I think it's really a facile ploy and a cheap shot to invalidate anything you don't agree with because the "MSM" wrote it. It makes any real debate impossible, because there isn't even an basic set of facts/shared assumptions to ground the argument.

The Sun's writer is hoping for some kind of real democracy in Afghanistan, which wouldn't be Karzai. Yes, Karzai is a Pashtun (and a CIA operative). Sometimes you can be many things at the same time! Not all of them equally significant, though.
