The trends in Iraq do not look good for the U.S.

I disagree.

I do think whatever the fluctuations around the trends are large enough to make the trends hard to spot, so I think reasonable people can easily come to different conclusions but I see the government slowly getting more powerful vs. the insurgency, too slowly for my taste, I think there is a need to speed up this improvement but I think the improvement is there.
