Tivo with verizon and SBC

Verizon and SBC are determined to accelerate the rollout of their fiber network. Cable companies like Comcast is eating away their traditional phone business by offering VOIP service. Verizon and SBC have counter attack plans to roll out the fiber network and use the network to offer video and other data services. They will need DVR partner like Tivo which has a broadband capability to save video data. I think Tivo's business arena is much larger than those of traditional satellite companies and cable companies.
As broadband penetration in the US increases, Tivo can team up with broadband content companies (Yahoo and Google) and network companies (SBC, Verizon, Comcast, ect) to make Tivo DVR a home for all the video and voice data storage and replay at viewer's convinience.

From what I gather, Tivo is taking this view by making its DVR much more than the high tech VCR that is tied to just specific satellite company. If the management can continue to work on the innovation and execute on the business strategy, it has a huge potential of becoming home entertainment giant..

Good luck longs...
