Founding Fathers were strictly against church in state.

General morality and mentions of "God" do not mean they favored any specific religion or any religion being merged with government. In fact, some of the Founding Fathers denied Jesus was even divine. And everyone on the religious right is some kind of Jesus freak.

ALmost all people on the planet recognize general morality, some interpretation or concept of "God" and even the potential for a life after death ("heaven"). But nowhere in the Constitution or in the writings of the founding fathers do they ever say or insinuate any church or religion should be part of or mixed in with our government. In fact they specifically say religion needs to butt out.

very very strict about that. No question about it.
