Yes. Americans had better figure out soon that energy production has to use intelligent science and engineering and not stupid politics, whether the politics of the right or the left. The United States reacts very well to shocks. Pearl Harbor led within four years to a nuclear bomb. Sputnik went up and ten years later there were Americans on the moon. Being coddled by the Saudis is a very bad thing. Bush ought to be trying to scare Americans about energy instead of Social Security.
