I said things where improving but that doesn't mean that they are good, or that the improvement is at anywhere near the pace that I would want it to be at. Tim, it's a disaster. The country is in chaos, no control anywhere, civil war. It makes Vietnam look like Pleasant Valley, Illinois. In order to see todays Iraq clearly, you really need to step back and forget political prejudice. Don't even think about the US involvement. Forget if you like the Sunni or the Shia, or neither or both. Just look at Iraq as an independent entity, no emotion, take it for what it is without any spin. Just take a very clear, cold, objective look at this country (as if there was no US involvement). Like it was Angola or something. What do you see? John
