Re: The religious right in particular is political poison, and Bush, Frist and Delay are all umbilically attached to that poison. Today's religious right in the U.S. is the equivalent of the Brown Shirts in Germany in the 1930s. Anti-intellectual, largely lower middle class, superstitious, nationalistic and easy prey for the clever swindlers of the aristocracy. Bush, Frist, DeLay and especially Rove and Luntz all cynically manipulate the emotional hot buttons of the dim-witted evangelical right. The game for the evangelicals is to create a 13th Century theocracy. The Republican elite are angling to make sure that they are the ones in power when this theocracy is born.
