Yes. The law was amended to allow female rulers just about three years ago, again during Grand Prix time, when Rainier was so sick that he couldn't attend it.

And the juicy reason why is: According to Franco-Monegasque agreements, if the Prince of Monaco dies without a heir, the Principality goes under French rule. Ouch! :-)
