The authors of Freakonomics reported the research on abortion and crime in a mass market magazine months ago. One thing that seems to fly under the radar is that the proof is that states which legalized abortion years before Roe v. Wade had lower crime statistics years before the Roe v. Wade states did.

In other words, people keep forgetting that abortion was legal in a large number of states prior to Roe v. Wade, and if Roe v. Wade is overturned, it will continue to be legal in most states.
