Who dares... Worms!!!
They're back. And this time it's war!

ECTS kicked off with the Worms 2 party last night. Over 100 people packed out the Shoot 'n' Surf cafe in London's New Oxford Street.

Worms has come on a long way since Andy Davidson wrote it on his bedroom Amiga in 1994. Set to ship in October, Worms 2 is looking bigger, better and even more pink than the original. 18 players can now compete on a single PC, and Internet play will allow up to eight 'Worms' to blast each other to bits. Female Worms
(who are just as deadly as the males) make their first appearance, and there's new daft weaponry such as an exploding sheep and banana bombs.

The build shown at Shoot 'n' Surf was from the final code, and on this evidence Worms 2 looks likely to become one of the show's lead attractions. Ian Howie
