Because we've tightened security in this country- just as with other periods of airline hijacks- security tightens after an incident, then when vigilance relaxes terrorists find another way to hit us. That was an easy question- thanks :-) And of course there will be more attacks- there will be more internal terrorist events from home grown terrorists, and more external ones- I recommend higher safety precautions in airports, better (MUCH better) security at the ports (with emphasis on container shipping) and better policing of the long sections of unsecured borders, and that we try to refrain from stupid wars that siphon money away from protecting our country.
