The Newsweek story turns out to be correct afterall. Maybe not the exact details but the general Koran abuse. The Red Cross and New York Times have confirmed similar reports from other sources. And why should anyone be surprised?

The blame for Islamic unrest lies with the Iraq invasion and Abu Graiab much more than any incidents of flushing a Koran. This is clear evidence that Bush may have created many more terrorists than he has destroyed. He has certainly created more America-haters. When Bush told us invading Iraq was for national security reasons and self-defense, he lied. In fact the invasion and occupation have made us less safe around the world.

However, let's hope something good comes from it all. We don't want all those people to have died in vain.
