There is only one way that the iraqis will ever fight for themselves in large enough numbers that we could exit and that is if we tell them on X day we will be gone. It might work, it might not but at least we will not have to listen to the same nonsense year after year about how well we are doing there. We are in a war we cant seem to win and cant seem to lose. We need to come up with our best shot for success and a scenario that works like a stop loss in the market on the downside. And to be honest at this point I think we have to think in terms of fall back position of 3 states. Shiaa moving closer to iran last week when the FM visited indicates that they already are. Pre-conceived notions about this war both for and against need to be reviewed.
