War cannot be fought without popular support. The polls have gone steadily downhill with a few bump ups when things seemed to get better in iraq. You cannot have a war without a draft, and without volunteers. Wonder how many folks on this thread are encouraging their kids to enlist these days? And the govt wont give us a draft and wont try to pay for the war with anything that will upset the taxpayer but the numbers of enlistees continue to go down anyway. POpular opinion will jump up with a timetable and more importantly will give the iraqis an opportunity to succeed. mike
