A written guarantee? What good would that do? That is only as good as keeping their word, not something that I would give a lot of credence to.

As an example, Ken Salazar, newly-elected Senator from Colorado, has already reneged from a campaign pledge to support an up-or-down vote for all judgeship nominees.
