I am afraid modern strawberries that are bred to survive several days' bruising travel to supermarkets aren't the most flavorful. This story is like that of the hard, flavorless tomato, unfortunately. Isn't there a growing season in most locales where strawberries could grow? It seems like one of those crops that we would enjoy more of (if not for such a long season) under a sustainable, local agriculture philosophy of doing things.
