oh please children cannot legally consent- children can say "yes" to anything (from about 12 months), but that doesn't make it consent under the law. It's an easy way to differentiate between relationships between adults and relationships between kids and adults- the law would have to be changed for it not to be so. Ergo, there is an easy way in place to discriminate, reasonably, between the two types of relationships. You said we would have to use emotions, and that is clearly not the case. You might want to retract your comment about emotion, since it just isn't true. "I suppose liberals would have a hard time finding any reason (other than emotions) to oppose child marriage and cross-species marriage as well."
