I was actually thinking of the tribunal that was trying Milosevic. US recognizes that one, of course.

Then I remembered that it is a special court that deals with only former Yugoslavia. I guess it will not be easy to get the UN to form another court that deals with US' wars :-)

ICC is a relatively new establishment. Yes, I do know that the US famously withdrew from it during W. Bush reign, after he failed to get exemption for US soldiers (What is up with that???). Probably because realized much his policies digressed from the modern understanding of laws & customs of war and human rights in particular.

Re your list of states who does not recognize ICC - are you really so proud as to tout those shining beacons of democracy & human rights that have sided with the US on that issue? Iran, Iraq, Chile, Egypt, Pakistan? Gee, you must be proud that US is there opposing ICC right next to them :-)

And emphasizing Monaco in that list makes it funnier. It's a 1.9 km2 PRINCIPALITY that has NO MILITARY, my dear friend. Are you really comparing it to the US?
