Duke, Most people I know who use NT4.0 are not impressed with it's performance. Once set up and working with hardware and software and all the funny new buggy drivers all finalized, it runs OK. So for an office environment where the employees add nothing and just use the programs it seems OK.
Now why did Microsoft do this??, it must have been intentional. Why did the bug city NT-4 get released, and why did the service pacs have new extra bugs?
Is there no -one checking these things?
You would think that MS would wait until it was stable and bug free, as there was no-one brethinbg down their neck.
Need for booked sales to hold up the earnings??
Gets me, but if you think you are going to upgrade to windows NT/server and get great new capabilities, and it will go fast and smooth on an assembly of diverse machines, now there is a joke.

There must be a sound reason for this poisoning of the well, or Gates would not do it.
Does anyone have a viewpoint??
Bill
