Hello Glen,
I've been an active bb user and poster of financials on foreign stocks for 6+ years. During that time I have read millions of posts and encountered thousands of people. You have to learn how to read the "hypsters" and separate them from people that share real, hard-earned information if you want to really make any serious money using this medium. I have always made it a practice to read many posts before I even consider responding. Negative posting only serves one purpose and that is to eliminate you from any loop you may possibly be getting into. Negative posting is not refraining from asking tough, valid questions in a polite manner. Negative posting is using words like hype, etc. in reference to work and posts from people you don't know anything about. I have always welcomed tough questions asked politely as do most of the people I talk to on a regular basis, but it gets really old when there are 500+ posts on the DCIC/FTEL thread and people ask the same questions over and over or question the integrity of those posting here, especially that of someone like Mr. Murphy who takes time out of his schedule to appear here at our requests. For many small investors, talking to a CEO is an unheard of experience but I can assure you that CEO's DO talk to shareholders. This medium of the internet is relatively new and several CEO's of companies I have shares in have started coming "on line" to do some communicating so that their conversations which were previously limited to large shareholders can now be shared by everyone. Negativity drives them back to their offices and conversations with "big boys only." Is that what you want? I don't.
If you want good info, there is a price you must pay and that price is politeness because rudeness drives the good information back underground and leaves the majority out of the loop once again. I hope you choose to be a positive contributor to these boards but I know those that provide info here can be gone as quickly as they came if that's what you want. The decisions for that lies in the attitudes of you and those like you.
