One of the tribes recently started suing to get about 1/3 of the state back. What they did was to pick one farm in each of 30 counties and filed against the farmers. That scared a few farmers until the suits were tossed out. <<While we were up there the last time, we went to Starving Rock and learned some about the Illinois tribe that mostly died out there.>> One tribe cornered another on that hill top until it was either starve or jump into the river. The island across from the park has been bought by a conservation group and is now a nesting area for Bald Eagles.
