China's Jan-April coal output up 7.7 pct at 560 mln tons - report

BEIJING (AFX) - China's coal output reached 560 mln tons in the first four months of this year, up 7.7 pct year-on-year, the China Securities Journal reported, citing Pu Hongjiu, deputy director of the China Coal Industry Association (CCIA).

Pu also estimates that China's annual coal consumption will reach 2.4 bln tons by 2020, although no comparative figures were provided.

Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia will remain China's major coal producing bases, the report said.
