At one time that island was an amusement park with rides and such. A cable car took the people across the water. Now there's a group there removing all people made things. At times you can wade across to the island and never get your knees wet, at other times you can't get to the lodge for all the water in the park. Utica, the town just across the river was hit by a tornado last year and about half the town was destroyed. Arrowhead collecting used to be a big deal in Illinois. Guys would hit the fields after plowing and several had collections in the hundreds of points.
