I am amazed at how fast people have seemingly forgotten those horrible days following 9/11.

brian, i am not entirely....

human nature is such that we cannot live in a hypervigilant state, eventually we must let down our guard internally

we as individuals have to strike a balance toward vigilance and going about our lives as though peace is the norm...

the fact is while we are living in peace domestically (for now) we are fighting a war against terrorist/jihadists on their turf...the broader ME (specifically afghanistan and iraq, possibly syria next?)....while that war is ongoing, we can be sure that attacks against us domestically are being plotted and funded as we speak

it is complete folly to think we can somehow appease religiously bigoted murderous mindset

what is the insanity that i see evolving is people attacking more and more our means and methods of protecting our country against further atrocities committed by the islamo-terrorists, as though protecting theoretical liberties are of greater significance than the potential of mass casualties that will happen again if the boot is taken off the neck of the terrorist
