Thanks for the info Crash. After years of frustration in dealing with Dialogic's lack an SS7 solution (our various Dialogic reps often gave us puzzled lloks when we asked), it is good to hear that they will be focusing some attention on this in the furture. However, I believe that they should have been developing SS7 expertise all along.

On the CTI side, the push for standards in telephony boards will make the playing field much more level in the next couple of years. As I stated, our SW middle-ware runs on all popular boards. Both Dialogic and NMSS have been aggresively courting us, seeking our business for our next generation product. I like being able to tell them both that as long as they provide reliable and innovative, standards-based boards that are competitively priced, they should be OK. I think that we will see some very aggressive pricing in analog and T1 boards. The great thing is that the product-lock that these vendors have traditionally had is being broken.

For both DLGC and NMSS, low-margin is a new concept. The question is, can they make money when the price of a T1 board is halved (or more)? They will be competing with some very aggressive upstarts, and possibly some offshore cloners. Hope these guys are ready for the competition. I know that I am!! I expect to see dual T1 boards selling for less that the current single T-span boards.
