Thanks for posting that rundown. I knew one of the hijackers was Egyptian, but didn't know or had forgotten one was from the UAR and one was Lebanese.

While some of the 19 were certainly fanatic Muslims, some may have been more nominal Muslims, particularly those given to visiting topless bars.

BTW I believe the "20th hijacker", Moussouai, held French citizenship and was of north African origin.

Re. Iraqis, it is true that none of the 19 were Iraqi, though Abdul Rahman Yasin, who made the explosive used in the first attempt to bring down the WTC and kill thousands of Americans, was Iraqi. He escaped to Iraq and was given haven there by Saddam's government. The US had a $5 million reward on him. US troops captured him in Iraq and I understand he has since died in US custody.

The nationality of Ramzi Yousef, who ramrodded the first WTC attempted destruction, and his cousin Khalid Sheikh Muhammed, who was involved in planning both the 1993 and 2001 attacks is not known for certain.
