"According to a definition you gave a while back, I would qualify as a Zionist because I believe in Israel's right to exist. As for Mr. Shahak and other Jewish writers' I have read, they too do not advocate dismantlement of Israel, so they meet your definition."

Yes you got it Sun. Rather than argue with Nadine, your argument should be with Marcos who wants to kill what he calls the Excludostadt regardless of what the consequences would be. United palestine is his solution with jews and arabs living in peace. In an ideal world, that is an ok view. But he knows in his heart what happens if the jews agreed to such a thing now and he doesnt care.
And just so you know and nadine will back me up on this, I too believe in "social justice and more equitable settlement with Pals and a fair and peaceful coexistence between the two" just like you. I too think the israelis have behaved badly at times. I think the arabs brought this on themselves in the modern world by not accepting partition. If they had accepted that and both israel and palestine had honoerd that over the years, think of the map that would exist today. I would take that map in a heartbeat if acceptance of partition led to better relations between the peoples, no nukes, no terror, no occupations etc. Mike
