Yes it does, greg or e. But you are aware that I used it to refer to the quickening of the fetus as denoted by the potential mother feeling movement. This is the meaning in the context of abortion as understood by scientists, physicians, and the Church.

People permit the egg to develop through stages to become a fetus--which "quickens" at some point--and people continue to carry these fetuses and to then give birth to them at which point they are mothers and the fetus is a child. Since I began this thread I have probably stated a couple of dozen times that the sperm, egg, and zygote (fertilized egg) are human in dna structure. Zygotes are NOT human individuals or persons. They are NOT bipedal, and they are NOT conscious. As the egg develops through evolutionary phases of fish and reptile it eventually takes on human evolutionary characteristics and develops consciousness. (Oh--I don't want to "confuse" you! It is NOT an egg when it passes through these phases!)! Whew!

That is NOT what I said. I said that people have a RIGHT to dispose of anything within their bodies. I did not say it was always good or sensible. It may indeed be "sick" to do certain abortions. In most places, PBA's are only assisted under very constrained circumstances. Unfortunately...this stance often results in births which are tossed into alleys or rivers. The question of when society should assist abortion is a difficult one. The question of a person's right to abort is not. The right to kill yourself or to take drugs, drink, or live recklessly is the right over your body and anything within your body.
