Funny how people perceived as menacing can be really decent. When I was a kid my dad's office was next to a biker bar (this was in the early seventies when bikers were bikers) and my folks would take me to the office at night rather than hire a sitter.

While they would leave the occasional pool of blood in the parking lot in the wee hours they loved kids like you wouldn't believe, couldn't have been any nicer. Not a one of them would go into the bar without stopping to chat with me.
