EXACTLY! It is exactly the meekness of namby-pamby liberals that is being used to attack them. It's easy to see the historical parallels between the bully boys in power in America today and those in Germany in the 1930s.

Same attacks on labor union organizing.

Same attacks on a despised minority. (Jews then, Muslims now.)

Same attacks on the press or media and control of much of the airways with propaganda.

Same expansionist imperial aggression.

Same propaganda about untermenschen, then the racial inferiority of the Jew, the Slav, the Gypsy. Today the racial inferiority of the raghead, the "bitches" in the Iraq insurgency, etc.

Same attack on liberals.

One of my favorite radio personalities is Thom Hartmann. He's come out swinging for "the radical middle". He's an old fashioned democrat with the small D. He's willing to take on the Right Wing on his radio broadcast and after losing too many debates with Thom, the Heritage Foundation, AEI and other right wing think tanks don't take his call. Only the Ayn Rand Institute is still willing to debate Thom, and he cuts them to shreds.

We need way more Thom Hartmanns. He has the ability to appeal to a broad cross section of people because of the inherent decency and patriotism of his worldview.

Thom is this generation's "Fighting Bob LaFollette". A progressive with a plan, a program and a willingness to cut the Right down to size.
