The stock has finally moved up. Wow, it's almost $30 folks

I believe that the stock movement is the "Otellini Effect", or the "Otilleni Honeymoon". Otilleni has been selling the Intel growth story to the analyst community, and the analysts have begun to buy it.

Historically Moore, Grove and Barret never tried to sell the Intel growth story. The Intel growth in earnings was self evident in the past days of 20%-40% growth. In public Intel CEOs never committed to a specific growth rate target. Probably a vestige of the conservative engineer/scientist mentality.

Otilleni made it a point to graph the growth in Intel earnings during the last few years. The 10% growth is hard to spot due to the large seasonal fluctuations. And he took pains to point out that this growth rate was easily to sustain given Intels platform strategy.

So the analysts are finally making their projections in line with this growth rate. In the past the Intel stock would stagnate, and then suddenly double, when the analysts suddenly realized that the growth was exceeding the analyst projections.

Let us see how the stock behaves once the honeymoon period is over.
