So much of the money chasing housing now is credit of one sort or another, I am not sure that there will be surplus money to come back into stocks. Plenty of folks buying on ARM mortgages now could be underwater in a year or two and totally paralyzed about any spending or investing.

I hope these dire visions are all exaggerated. But I wouldn't be extending myself on debt now at all.
