The country's been there as long as its rocks have, check the semantic discussion between twfowler Tim and me, on the meanings of 'country', as opposed to 'nation' and 'state' ... the country's been known as Palestine since at least the romans, and probably before in aramaic, since the name derives from the philistines ... there have been arabic-speaking muslim people as a majority of Palestine for many many centuries before Herzl, never mind the Balfour declaration and Jabotinsky

The fact that a people have for many years been under foreign rule does not mean that new foreigners have a right to come in and rob them ... this whole line of argument is stupid, it belongs with the Land Grant From God theory, on the rubbish heap
