Being silent is good. They want to sell you a product and service and once you say yes it's over. You're stuck. Maybe the price is the same but you get an upgrade. Yes is a downer and no shuts the gate. I'll check around is better. Wife bought a new car last year. Told me she'd do the negotiations and I should shut up. Just before she said ok I said they could do $500 better. She's kicking me and the guy says OK. She still hates me for saving her $500.
