Your article is junk science, not to mention that the conservative bias is quite clear from the fact that it is a Michael Moore book with which they are trying the flushing experiment. We don't even know what kind of toilets there are in Guantanamo (now known as the American Gulag) and Abu Ghraib. They could be simply holes in the ground, or buckets, or whatever. It is slightly more notable that the main accuser has recanted his initial charge after a second "interview." There is no reason given for his change of heart, and since there are so many prisoner abuses that we can just look at the photos, I am not inclined to give the recantation much significance.

And I think the point is being missed. Whether the specific allegations of Koran toilet flushing are true, a senior Pentagon official did tell Michael Isikoff they were being investigated, before he began to doubt his own memory of the investigation. Gee, is a pattern developing here?

The second point that is being missed is that whether a Koran was flushed or not, the interrogators have used the prisoners' Muslim religion to debase and shame them. So the Afghans and Iraqis still have plenty of justification to be quite upset regarding our flagrant human rights violations.
