That is the very reason liberals won't get elected. People fear governement enforcement of their speech and daily actions. The liberal PC movement in it's attempt to be a panacea for all ills actually creates more restrictive, oppressive state for all. It becomes a tangle mass of individuals yelling "ouch" and attacking those they believe are less perfect. Problem being they all inflict these small discomforts upon each other and the problem is unending. ""one man's....(fill it in).."

A "for instance": The "Koran fushing" debacle. That only caused violence becuase the que was given that the American Press thought it was a serious issue. So all America dwelled on the PC fight against Koran disrespect while they said virtually nothing about the bombings of Mosques filled with Korans and people.

The people that claim to be the most enlightened "liberal" ;) tend to be the most authoritarian.

There was an experiment by a professor many years ago where they took a group of group of liberals to act as Jail Guards/Corrections Officers etc. Unexpectedly it resulted in the most outragious behavior by the "liberals".

I will attempt to find it. It occurred in the early 70s and may not be on the net.

I believe you underestimate the power of a well-organized modern Authoritarian State.
