eugenics? In a very poor country where starvation is everywhere, the smart brains survive noticeably better than the unintelligent. In a very rich country, like the US, dumb people outbreed smart people by far so there is steady progress in the genes at an early stage and steady dropping of genes for intelligence at the later stages. I always say --- read the U.S. newspapers of 1860 and compare with the newspapers of 2005. There is such a falling off of vocabulary! Compare the speeches of the politicians of 1860 with those of Bush etc. That's the reality. Dumb people cannot keep democracy. Alas. MB This should have some relation to investing.
