John thought that income tax should all be at the same rate...I don't think our Government could survive on everyone on a "$0" percent tax, so if the very low incomes had a bit of tax to pay, they could better think they were contributing to the greater good of the country.

Don't forget, everyone can vote. For years, the politicians have played to the lower income folks and given them everything possible, and have caused an 'entitlement' couple of generations of people. Actually it is nearly 3 generations of people with that mentality.

I basically think everyone is capable of contributing to the income tax in this country, even if it is a very low level for the lowest income brackets.
